Hardworking, determined, professional; three words that describe myself as a graphic designer. From an early age I took an interest in art beginning with small projects in elementary school to larger ones in college. My high school art teacher was the biggest influence on my decision to attend college for art. After attending East Carolina University for two years, I transferred to The Living Arts College in Raleigh, North Carolina to pursue my academic goals. These goals include completing my Bachelor’s in Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Interactive Media, taking on a one to two internships, and eventually working for a marketing arts agency. I am an active member of the AIGA student group at The Living Arts College as well as a member of the student government association, MODIV. I am most interested in package and product design. I feel my greatest weakness, at this point, is logo design which I am continuing to work at and make better. I am interested in getting into
web-design and layouts as well, because I feel there is a great need to web designers within companies that are already established. My current graphic design experience includes creating designs for business cards, poster designs, typographical work, product design, magazine layouts, and logo design and branding. I have recently been researching design agencies in the Raleigh area and have even visited a few. I would like to work for a smaller agency for the first few years of my career and later move to a larger firm where I can lend my creative skills to a team of professionals. I would like to eventually work my up to an art director or creative directory of a company.
